| ABOUT BEAGLE PUPS NEWBORN BEAGLE PUPS Baby beagles are born with their eyes closed - eyes open around 10 days. Most beagle pups are mainly black and white at birth, the brown appears later. These two snuggly female pups are from AKC Babe's Billie Jo's 2/00 litter. BEAGLE PUPS AT 3.5 WEEKS 3 young pups from Billie Jo's summer of '99 litter. By age 3-4 weeks little beagles are learning to romp and play. They start to show their mature markings - more of the brown tones are evident in their faces. BEAGLE PUP AT 5 WEEKS At 5 weeks, little beagles can run and jump, and wrestle and tumble constantly with their litter mates. They are almost weaned and eating solid food, They play with toys and like to chew everything! This is AKC Hockomock Swamp Li'l Booger - an example of a "blue ticked" beagle puppy. A LEMON & WHITE BEAGLE @ 6 WEEKS-KIM'S "TROUBLE" By six weeks of age the pups can move well but are still babyish enough to enjoy snuggles more than running around with litter mates. They aren't apt to wander off too far from you or their mom in the yard, but they think they are real tough guys depite this, and like to growl and rough house with their litter mates. Lemon and white beagles are unusual, very pretty and attract a lot of attention - people will ask you "Is that a beagle?"
